Sea Turtle Location: Turtle Island

Standing at 33-feet-tall and 20-feet-wide, Tank is the largest sea turtle on the Sea Turtle Art Trail. Tank can be seen from Padre Boulevard and is located at Turtle Island, one of the island's souvenir shops. Although large in scale, Tank isn't lacking on the amount of design detail. Painted in spunky-bright colors, Tank is a reflection of all the fun you can have while on South Padre Island.

DID YOU KNOw?

Every year, starting in April, multiple species of sea turtles come ashore to lay eggs on the beaches of South Padre Island and Boca Chica Beach. The majority of nests are from Kemp’s Ridley sea turtles, the most endangered sea turtle species in the world.

Sea Turtle, Inc. finds and relocates the nests to our corral and monitors them until they hatch.
