Sea Turtle Location: Art Business Incubator South Padre Island

Miracle is a depiction of the entire life cycle of the sea turtle. The base incorporates nesting sand with turtle eggs, and the hatchlings crawling over the back of the adult female, as they make their way into the ocean waters splashing on her underside.

Built into the overall design, is the hope that when you look at the statue of the turtle, you realize that it's not just the animal we need to protect, it is the beaches where they nest, it is the inshore jetties and rocks where they grow and gain strength, and it is the deep open oceans where they live and breed. All of these environments need our protection, attention, and love, as does the species itself.

DID YOU KNOW?

Sea Turtle, Inc. is home to former patients who are not able to be released back to the wild.

Sea turtles with less than 75% of their flippers are deemed unsuitable for life in the wild. We have several resident sea turtles that stay at the facility all year long and act as educators and ambassadors for sea turtle conservation, including world-famous Allison, the first sea turtle in the world to use a successful prosthesis!
