coral by Beth Fedigan

Sea Turtle Location: Sea Turtle, Inc.

Coral aka "La Sierna" features a mermaid, done in the style of one of the images on Loteria (Loteria is commonly referred to as “Mexican Bingo”).  The rendition is a more contemporary and brightly colored mermaid who is tenderly holding a baby turtle - a tip of the fin to the work of the volunteers at Sea Turtle, Inc.

Meet the Artist

Island artist Beth Fedigan was involved in some form of art most of her life. She studied art throughout her school years and won several awards while there. After leaving school, she experimented with various mediums in the art field before returning to work in fine art. Living in the tropics is reflected in her paintings with her bold and vibrant use of color and tropical subject matter.  Primarily a watercolorist, Beth also worked in acrylic, pastels, and collage.

Beth and her family live on South Padre Island, Texas, where she keeps busy with commissions and does several art shows each year. Her work can be seen in local galleries, design studios, hotels, restaurants, and businesses, as well as private collections.

Her greatest satisfaction comes from the impact her art has on others. She enjoys watching the faces of those who see her work, especially if it brings a smile to their faces.
